Vuly has recently updated their popular Ultra trampoline line, introducing the Ultra 2 and Ultra 2 Pro models.

Let's take a closer look at these models and see how they compare, as well as what's changed from the original Ultra.

What's New in the Ultra 2 Series?

Both the Ultra 2 and Ultra 2 Pro introduce several improvements over the original Ultra model:

New Ladder

Vuly says their new ladder is made out of a single piece of material, making it super strong and rigid. It also allows for faster installation without tools, potentially making the setup process smoother for parents.

Flexible Net Poles

The new models feature more flexible net poles, designed to withstand greater force without bending or breaking. This enhancement aims to improve both safety and longevity.

Fresh Colour Options

Vuly has refreshed the colour palette, replacing the previous yellow and blue with new Garden Green and Warm Grey options. These new colours might blend more easily with different backyard settings.

Dual Accessory Use

Unlike the original Ultra, these new models allow simultaneous use of the basketball hoop and shade cover, offering more versatility in play options.

Spring Configuration

Both models employ a dual-layered spring system which Vuly says improves bounce quality and durability.

Ultra 2 vs Ultra 2 Pro: Key Differences

While sharing many features, the Ultra 2 and Ultra 2 Pro do have some notable differences:

Frame Design

The Ultra 2 maintains the W-shaped legs of its predecessor. In contrast, the Ultra 2 Pro introduces a new lower frame design with straight legs and an additional frame ring, aiming for increased strength and stability. It looks interestingly similar to the old Lift 2 model.

Rust Protection

Both models feature galvanised steel frames, but the Ultra 2 Pro adds powder coating for enhanced rust resistance.

Important

The Ultra models don't come with an anchor kit. We highly recommend also purchasing the Vuly Trampoline Anchor Kit, which will secure your trampoline to the ground.

Padding Options

The Ultra 2 Pro offers double-sided padding that can be flipped to extend its useful life. The Ultra 2 doesn't have this feature.

Warranty Coverage

The Ultra 2 comes with a 5-year warranty on the frame, while the Ultra 2 Pro extends this to 10 years, potentially reflecting differences in durability.

Price Point

There's a significant price difference between the two models. The Ultra 2 is currently priced at $799 for the Large size, while the Ultra 2 Pro costs $1199 for the same size.

Shared Features

Despite their differences, both the Ultra 2 and Ultra 2 Pro share several key features:

  • Available in Medium, Large, and XL sizes
  • The dimensions are the same across both models
  • Self-closing entry for added safety
  • Superfine mesh to help prevent injuries
  • Curved safety net poles
  • Compatibility with accessories like shade covers, tent walls, and basketball hoops

Choosing Between the Ultra 2 and Ultra 2 Pro

Your decision between these two models will likely depend on your specific needs and budget. Here are some factors to consider:

The Ultra 2 might be a good fit if:

  • You're working with a tighter budget
  • You're satisfied with standard rust protection
  • A 5-year frame warranty meets your needs

The Ultra 2 Pro could be worth considering if:

  • You're willing to invest more for potentially greater durability
  • Enhanced rust protection is important in your climate
  • You prefer the option of flippable, double-sided padding
  • A longer 10-year frame warranty appeals to you

Both trampolines offer improvements over the original Ultra model and are designed to provide safe, enjoyable use for families. Consider your priorities and budget to determine which model aligns best with your needs.
